Region VII After School Programs

About our Regional Learning Center (RLC)

As an innovative strategy for regional capacity building, the California AfterSchool Partnership, in association with the Community Network for Youth Development, designed and launched a statewide initiative that selected 14 of California's most promising after school programs and identified them as Regional Learning Centers. A Regional Learning Center is a multi-site after school program that has demonstrated a high level of proficiency in 14 research-based, field tested exemplary practice areas and serves as a "learning lab" for new and existing partnerships, programs and sites.

Region VII's Regional Learning Center is HEART (Homework Enrichment Acceleration Recreation Teamwork). HEART has 12 sites throughout Tulare County and serves approximately 1,700 students. Visit HEART's website at ProYouthHEART.org.

If you would like to visit our Regional Learning Center, please contact Maria Magallanes, Regional Lead, at (559) 651-0155, or e-mail her at mariamag@tcoe.org.
