Learning and Doing
Project/Problem Based Learning
While many professional development opportunities for educators involve interaction and learning within the academic community, the work-based nature of school-to-career necessitates a greater emphasis on learning activities that incorporate workplace and industry themes in cooperation with local business. Learning and Doing combines teacher visits to the workplace with the development of real-world student research projects that can be incorporated into classroom activities.
School Garden Program
The School Garden Program expands and enhances the development of agriculture education material, tools and outreach through an innovative school garden investment program. The project supports the material, supplies, professional services and outreach needed to produce and disseminate age-appropriate, standards-based curriculum and school garden services to all local schools and more than 94,000 students in the Tulare County area.
The School Garden Program further develops a teacher-driven project model that integrates Ag in the Classroom, California Ag literacy standards and other specific curricular resources. An assortment of Ag Science Education and literacy support mechanisms will ensure an integrated, standards-based, set of activities for Tulare County students.

Community Collaborative Project
The Community Collaborative Project expands career pathway projects in the area and builds upon the collaborative academic and career course work needed for today's work environments. Working with industry and education partners, the College of the Sequoias Tech Prep Consortium has invited successful K-12 career pathway and academy sites to partner with School-to-Career programs to expand articulation, develop courses and coenrollment programs that meet a diversified and expanded set of occupations.
