Scot B. Townsend is the City Manager for the City of Lindsay. He has spent the majority of his career working on projects with local governments for economic development, housing redevelopment and community planning. Professionally, Mr. Townsend is a member of the state advisory boards for the HOME Partnership and the Community Development Block Grant Program. Mr. Townsend is married and has seven children. He is a member of numerous civic organizations.

Trustee Area No. 4 includes all the area embraced in the following school districts: Allensworth, Alpaugh Unified, Columbine, Earlimart, Farmersville Unified, Lindsay Unified, Outside Creek, Pixley, Richgrove, Rockford, Saucelito, Sundale Union, Sunnyside Union, and Terra Bella Union.
Term expires November 2010.

Leonard Hansen Leonard Hansen
Vice President
Trustee Area 2

Leonard Hansen (a resident of Woodlake) also served on the Elderwood and Woodlake Elementary School Boards and has been a member of the Tulare County Board of Education since 1972. He is married and a father of four children who all received their education in Woodlake schools and are university graduates. "Public education for all youth is a priceless American asset."

Trustee Area No. 2 includes all the area embraced in the following school districts: Burton, Exeter Union, Sequoia Union, Strathmore Union, Three Rivers Union, Woodlake Union, a portion of Visalia Unified and a portion of Porterville Unified.
Term expires November 2008.

John S. Baker John S. Baker
Trustee Area 6

Prior to being elected to the Tulare County Board of Education, John Baker served approximately four years on the Hot Springs Elementary School District Board of Education and was elected board president in November 2002. Volunteering his time as an emergency medical technician for the Hot Springs Ambulance Company and as a teacher's aide and web master for the school district, he completed the California School Boards Association's Masters in Governance training program in 2003. In addition, Mr. Baker is a retired C.P.A. and has been a small business owner for the past 20 years.

Trustee Area No. 6 includes all the area embraced in the following school districts: Alta Vista, Citrus South Tule, Ducor Union, Hope, Hot Springs, and Springville Union, a majority of Porterville Unified, and that portion of Linns Valley-Poso Flat Union lying within Tulare County.
Term expires November 2008.

Pat Hillman Patricia Hillman
Trustee Area 7

Pat Hillman was born and educated in Tulare. She earned dual teaching credentials at Fresno State University and taught in both Fresno and Tulare. She is married and the mother of four grown children. She has volunteered in many community activities including 25 years as a member of the Tulare City School Board.

Trustee Area No. 7 includes all the area embraced in the following school districts: Liberty, Pleasant View, Tulare, and Woodville.

Celia Maldonado-Arroyo Celia Maldonado-Arroyo
Trustee Area 1

Ms. Maldonado-Arroyo is retired from the position as Associate Dean of the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) at College of the Sequoias. Prior to her work at COS, she held positions with Fresno City College and Fresno Unified School District. Additionally, she has served as the State President of the Association of Mexican American Educators, and a board member of Radio Bilingue, the Tulare/Kings Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Fresno.

Trustee Area No. 1 includes all the area embraced in the following school districts: Cutler-Orosi Unified, Dinuba Unified, Kings River Union, Monson-Sultana Joint Union, Stone Corral; a portion of Visalia Unified, and those portions of Clay Joint, Kings Canyon Joint Unified and Kingsburg Joint Union lying within Tulare County.
Term expires November 2008.

Edward F. Peterson Edward F. Peterson
Trustee Area 3

Dr. Peterson served on the first elected board in 1956. He was President of the Board from 1961 - 1977, a total of 16 years. He was elected President again in 1989. A retired children's dentist in Visalia, the Trustee Area No. 3 representative has been active in the Sheriff's Aero Squadron. He retired from the board in November 1996 and was reappointed to fill a vacancy in October 1999.

Trustee Area No. 3 includes a portion of the area embraced in the Visalia Unified School District.
Term expires November 2008.

Katy Rominger Katy Rominger
Trustee Area 5

Katy Rominger is a native Visalian and a retired educator. She served five districts including Visalia Unified for 25 years. During her 34-year career, she taught at all grade levels (preschool to adult) and served as a principal in Santa Clara, California and Monte Vista, Colorado; she also owned Daily Bread Gifts in Colorado. She is the founder and former owner of Bunny Bear Christian Day Care on Chinowth in Visalia - now Hyde Park Preschool. She and her husband, Randy, have two grown daughters and a 12-year-old son.

Trustee Area No. 5 includes all the area embraced in the following school districts: Buena Vista, Oak Valley Union, Palo Verde Union, Tipton, Traver Joint, Waukena Joint Union and a portion of Visalia Unified.
Term expires November 2008.
