Substitute Maintenance Positions at SCICON

The SCICON maintenance program is frequently in need of substitute maintenance/custodial workers to assist with the maintenance and custodial duties at SCICON. SCICON is an 1,100 acre campus with over 30 buildings, vehicles, machinery, roads and trails, all of which need maintenance, cleaning and care. Substitutes for the maintenance program should be able to stand on their feet for long periods of time, be able to lift 50 pounds, and work without close supervision or assistance. Previous professional maintenance or custodial experience is preferred.

Substitutes must go through all employment application procedures of Tulare County Office of Education, including a fingerprint background check as well as TB clearance. The fingerprint background check and TB clearance must be done at the substitute's own expense. Substitutes must be willing to work on an "on-call" basis and can expect to work from four to eight hours when called. To inquire about the process of applying for a substitute maintenance/custodial position, please e-mail Kevin Humann, SCICON Maintenance Supervisor, or call him at (559) 539-4006.
