SCICON Conference & Retreat Facilities

SCICON is the outdoor science school operated by the Tulare County Office of Education. Each week, 200 students come to this 1100-acre campus to spend the week studying science, nature and conservation. On weekends during the school year, this beautiful campus is available from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon for conferences and retreats. During the summer months, the campus is available both weekdays and weekends. In addition to a beautiful natural setting with trails, streams and abundant plant and animal life, the following facilities are available for conference use:

Meeting Areas
  • 300-person meeting hall
  • Wall-mounted projection screen, sound system, VCR/DVD player
  • Multiple smaller meeting areas (up to five meeting rooms which can accommodate 20 to 50 persons each)
  • Outdoor arbors (large and spacious for outdoor meetings/activities)
  • Outdoor amphitheatre with stage and lighting

Dining
  • 250-person capacity dining lodge (John Muir Lodge)
  • Full service professional kitchen
  • Full range of menus
  • Outdoor BBQ facilities, covered eating areas and picnic tables

Overnight Accommodations
  • Semi-private (2-4 per bedroom); showers, living area
  • Cabins (sleeps 12 per cabin); bunk beds, carpeting, heating, ceiling fans

SCICON is a public school facility and enforces a "No-alcohol and tobacco-free campus" policy. All conference groups must furnish a proof-of-insurance certificate in the amount of $300,000.

SCICON will provide a host for all conference groups. Group-size minimum for conferences with food service is 35 persons.
