CSET Test Preparation Classes California Subject Examination for Teachers for No Child Left Behind Act compliance The next CSET Test will be March 17, 2007. The Central California Teacher Recruitment Center and The Tulare County Office of Education will be offering test preparation classes for the Multiple Subject Exam, which consists of: Subtest I: Language Arts, Social Science Subtest II: Mathematics, Science Subtest III: Art, Music, PE, Human Development Also being offered are test preparation classes for the Single Subject Exams in: English Social Sciences Math Do I need to take the CSET? All California teachers must demonstrate subject matter competency to be compliant with the Federal No Child Left Behind Act, as well as for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Single Subject teachers can have a major in the subject area in which they teach or pass the CSET for that subject. Multiple Subject teachers hired on or after July 1, 2002 may prove subject matter competency only by passing the CSET. A practice exam for the Multiple Subject CSET is available at www.cset.nesinc.com. Taking the practice exam will help to determine the areas in which you will need additional preparation.
