About the Theatre Company

County Superintendent of Schools Jim Vidak and former Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Sally Bakke created the Theatre Company in 1998. The goals of the company include teaching solid fundamental theater skills, instilling professional discipline and work ethics, establishing career connections and giving young people a safe and challenging place to create and express themselves.

The Theatre Company offers a constant stream of workshop and performance opportunities for students throughout Tulare County. Check our workshops listing for current offerings. In addition, Theatre Company staff members are available to visit school sites to work with existing theater classes or provide extracurricular programs.

Brian Roberts serves as the Theatre Company Director. He has taught theater at all grade levels (elementary through college) and holds BA and MA degrees in theater from CSU Fresno. Brian is an active producer/director and occasionally finds time to work as an actor himself. He has directed for Good Company Players in Fresno, Fresno City College, Center Stage Productions in Clovis, and College of the Sequoias in Visalia. Brian has made theater education his life's work and delights in sharing that passion with young people.
